Hello, my name is Dave, I am a young plant broker in the greenhouse industry. i sell annual and perennial plugs, liners, and bareroot material to greenhouse growers and garden centers. I also sell unusual and tropical plants. I recently lost my supplier of venus fly trap bulbs, and I am looking for a supplier to replace them. my volumes need to be in the 1000 range times about 6 ot 7 ship dates throughout the year. (6000-7000) yearly volume. Does anyone know of a supplier? Our company is Leo Berbee Bulb Co, in Marysville Ohio. We are an importer and distributor for Holland Bulbs, daffodils from Scotland, and various other materials from around the world so importing is nothing new to us. Our previous supplier, used to ship directly to our customer. If anyone has any information that could be useful to me, I would really appreciate it.
thanks, Dave

I'd guess that Agristarts could potentially supply you with that many flytraps:

Steve and I could produce that many through tissue culture, but we certainly don't have the space to grow them all out or the man power to plant and ship that many per year.

thanks Matt. I am familiar with Agristarts, I broker some of their trays, but I didn't bother to call them because I thought they were tissue culture propagators as well. I need the bulbs(if they are technically bulbs I am not sure) I will give them a call though, see what I can find out. appreciate your reply!

Sounds like you are looking for a finished product instead of starts. Seem like most of the CP at hardware stores here in California come from Gublers.
You might try them.

thanks Brad, I'll look them up. but, yes I am looking for starts(bulbs). I sell them to a grower in Hawaii who grows them on for finished product.

What you refer to as "bulbs" are actually the rhizome of the plant. All flytraps have a rhizome, even tiny seedlings and plants fresh out of TC. Some sellers offer "bulbs" which are just plants with the leaves cut off the rhizome. This is tolerated fairly well if the plant is dormant at the time, but weakens the plant considerably if not dormant. Make sure you know what you are getting when you make a deal.

Good Luck,
Brad

Agristarts flytraps are usually well-established starts ("bulbs" or rhizomes). They sell them in 72 cell trays.

Another wholesaler is Bloomrite:

I think they may be a broker for Booman Floral:
