I know this is totally noobish, but I got so excited this morning while checking on my plants. I got some Drosera alicia seed from Shadowtski through the FTS seedbank and they germinated. This is my first time intentionally growing cp's from seed.

Thanks for looking!Image

It's not noobish at all. I still get excited when I have seed germination. I'm sure most of the veterans would agree with me too.

Good eye by the way. I never see mine until the dew starts glistening.

Thank you all so much for looking. I still feel like a kid on Christmas morning only more satisfied.

To boarderlib, I just want to thank you. It's because of your "all things boarderlib" thread that I got up the courage to start posting and trying to be a useful member on here.

I love seeing posts like this!

I just turned 60 but when I see seed germinate, I have a very hard time not doing Snoopy's Happy Dance from the original Charlie Brown special.

This is why the seedbank exists, so we can share and give more people the chance to experience that feeling.

Congratulations!!!

Good growing,
Mike

Thank you so much. You are another of my inspirations on here.
If I am this excited about my baby aliciae I can't even imagine what it will feel like if the Byblis liniflora germinate and make it to adulthood. I really look forward to a time when I can send seed to you and know I've helped out in some small way by giving other growers this same opportunity.
It's just so funny being 40 and getting THIS excited about something.

I know it's probably a little early for an update, but I thought it might be fun to keep a kind of diary on the progression of these plants. Yesterday the baby D. aliciae managed to fully open their first carnivorous leaves.
So far I have found five in the pot at this stage and a couple more working on getting out of the seed. There are probably more in there, but they are so tiny it's tricky to find them.Image

That's great. Please let me know how it goes.
The only reason I found the seedlings so soon is because I thought they wern't going to germinate and I was going to take the pot outside to see if it helped any. On my way to the door I decided to clip the macro lens on my phone and have a look, and there they were.
I really wish you the best with your seeds. Show them off once you see some babies and ask for help on the way if you need it. The people on here are great.
