Hello all.

This is my first post here although have loved reading the board and gained valuable information.

This is my 3rd stint at growing VFT's in over 30 years...

I had poor success previous...But mainly down to much ignorance about proper care.

I matured 2 plants which grew fantastic last year with large and numerous traps.

It was by far the best looking plants I managed to grow...

Potted with a good mixture of moss and perlite based soil.

I wintered the plant outside in a shed in November and 2 weeks ago removed to prevent fungal infection...Cleaned it up and cut back dead decaying leaves showing way signs of fungus...

And now the plant has started to burst into life...

My question is that one has started the flowering process...Not seen this quite so early..It stated the flowering process in early august and cut to prevent further based on advice here.

But such an early event on one of the plants has me questioning. . whether I should cut the flower stem now so early on...

Image shows one on left has a flowering stalk appear.

Advice please.

Welcome to FlytrapCare!

This is a normal time of year for flytraps to flower, if the weather is sufficiently warm, so nothing out of the ordinary with yours flowering now.

I'd definitely cut off the flower stalk if it were my plant.
