I was out watering my plants this morning and one of my plants, which was the first to throw up a flower stalk this season (and abnormally thick) appears to be False Vivipary. I am very excited as I have awed at pictures online of this mutation for quite a while but never seen it in person.
This plant was picked up at a grocery store last season,I liked it because it looks very similar to Jaws or other large mouth short tooth cultivars. I picked up 3, and after closer inspection it appears a 2nd plant might also have False Vivpary but the stalk has not grown out quite far enough yet to be 100% sure.
Can anyone chime in how often they see this mutation in their own collection? I have 100's of VFT's, most just beginning to flower this season but these are the only ones i can tell have this mutation so far, which I find very interesting they are the same plant.
I will add more pictures as things get further along.
