Dehumidifier Water

Postby Lychanthrope » Tue Apr 07, 2009 5:30 pm

With Spring around the coner. I wonder if I can use the water from the dehumidifier to water my VFT? We run one in the basement in the summer months and I get a lot of water out of it.

Yes, I think that would be ok. It's the same as water coming off an Air Conditioner, right? It should be free of minerals.

Don't use it. A member of the OCPS forum had a bad experience with it.

I was just speculating. Since hackerberry has knowledge of someone using it with bad results, I would go with his answer. Of course, as you say, you can always experiment with a couple of plants and see how it goes.

Yeah, dehumidifiers are different depending on the built. Try the water on some of the less expensive CPs. Experiment is still the best way to go.

In my opinion, water from a dehumidifier or airco has a higher chance of containing fungi depending on the model ofcourse...
