I got this Cephalotus (Brain) from the FTS and it started out as a big mass of winter leaves. Now, it's turning into a big mass of pitchers! Of course, they opened right after my other Cephalotus pitchers so I am a happy grower!

Nice color! It looks a little dry?

I grow all my plants indoors and keep them all pretty dry to prevent root rot. I almost killed a few of my VFTs during the transition and have been hyper sensitive ever since then. When I was reading up on Cephalotus before buying them, I kept reading how detrimental overwatering can be. As a result I keep the top pretty dry and tray water for 30 or so minutes as needed. In addition, my LED setup completely fries the top layer of media so it looks even drier while the lower layers are still moist. I may water them a little bit more now that I am getting the hang of how they act.

Since I am also growing Nepenthes on the same rack, I am running a humidifier which keeps the plants pretty happy between waterings.
