On clearance at Lowe's Home Improvement I found a cheap ($7 USA) little desk lamp with a flexible metal neck with twist on/off switch on top. If you don't mind the hideous green color, the dome is big enough to house a 23 watt CFL (100 watt equivalent brightness). Its great to highlight a single VFT. The inside of the hood is painted white, bulb not included. I'll see about getting an item number tomorrow, and I think the green color is growing on me.

I love those little desk lamps. As long as the bulb isn't too close to the plant (to prevent burning and dehydration) they're great for germinating seeds or smaller plants that need a little extra care (or supplemented light). As I mentioned though, be careful about incandescent bulbs as they emit A LOT of heat!
