Hello, i suddenly got the urge to try an take care of something! I decided i would start with a venus flytrap! They are really facinating! Take a look at my plant, what do you think about it? Does it need anything? What do i do with it now that its winter?

Welcome! That's a very nice looking plant you have there.

Your plant needs to go dormant, decrease watering and pop it in a cool windowsill.

Thanks! How do i know when its gone dormant?
Do i need to feed it insects while its dormant?

It will gradually slow down growing, some leaves will turn black and die off. You dont need to feed it.

Btw. im thinking about buying a growing lamp, how much light per day will it need during dormation?

They don't need as much light during dormancy, if your window is bright and cold you don't need artificial lighting. If it's a cold dark window (like under an awning or something is blocking it from the outside) I would use the light - I'd say no less then 8hrs.
