Last May, I bought an Akai Ryu flytrap. It grew a flower scape which I cut off and put in some live Sphagnum Moss. In 2 months it developed growth buds, in 3 months, roots. I let it go dormant. It was smaller than a Quarter before dormancy. It is waking up now and so is its parent plant. Here are a few photos.

This is a nice way to propagate a named VFT cultivar without uprooting it or pulling leaves off from it.

Thanks for looking.
