I'm really starting to love weekends at my house. I get up. I have at least one cup of coffee. Then generally make an early morning walk around looking at my plants. This weekend I was treated to three different flowers, and my S Lueco 'Burgundy' finally opened a pitcher for me. I got this plant in late spring and it has aborted pitcher after pitcher. Finally on attempt number five, success. I must say too it was well worth the wait. A truly striking plant.

Anyways, enough chit chat. Let's see some pics, right?

I quit looking for this to flower months ago, and my wife says. "Hey, what's that?"

That's a Leucophylla 'Burgundy' I got from Mike Wang. The picture doesn't do the pinks in it justice, at all.

Thank you! I'm still trying to figure this camera out, but I'm definitely getting better with it.

I love the first picture so much. I like how the two shorter flowers are in focus and the background and foreground are blurred - very nice depth of field. DSLR no doubt?

Automatic focus on my Samsung Galaxy S7, that's all I can really tell you about it. The wind kept blowing the stalk around so I was having a hard time getting it to focus on the flowers. I think it was pretty much just a fluke shot that came out nice.

I did use a magnifying glass on the Dielsiana pic to focus on the flower and blur the rest out.

That's awesome! I can't wait until my D Cap flower stalk blooms. At least you don't have the exploding Note 7 Image

Nothing says "big" like a flower scape from a 'big pink'.

Thank you kind sir for being so generous as to donate this plant to me. I love it! It's far surpassed my expectations.

At least 26 flower buds so far.

The plant itself appears a little rough, because last week my cat decided he likes to lick and nibble on Drosera.

Thank you! I have sort of an obsession with white Sarrs too. I think all but like three of my Sarrs have Leuco in them.

Here's a pic of the same pitcher later in the fall.

I like the white too. Ive got my eye on one that Mike Wang has. Almost bought it a couple weeks ago but went with a purp instead.
