Well I wish I could join sadly I cannot because this web page is not set up for tablets or smart phones and won't allow me to sign up due to having to drag the word Venus flytrap to a box
And I can't put questions in the comment area ... I really don't want my flytrap to die though

I'm sure it is easy but I have had a long day but I cannot see how to reply to a post on the forums. I should like send a message to Daniel, who is a Brit too. OK, so I'm a newbie but please don't write me off as completely thick at this early stage.

BTW I love this website.

Hi Shannon,

We have to have that drag and drop challenge question during registration in order to prevent spammers. If you can't get access to a regular computer in order to be able to drag the correct answer over to the other column, then shoot me an email at matt@flytrapcare.com and I'll manually create an account for you.

Matt

I love your website and have been trying to join for like 45 minutes. Please help. I'm on an iPad so during registration I can't drag the carnivorous plant to the right column therefore cannot complete registration and join. I have searched the site over and cannot find a contact us so was forced to ask a question in this the comment only area... Sorry. I wanna join if only you will let me:sad:

Hi, I recently took over the care of a friend's fly trap. It's in moist moss right now. It wasn't doing so well when he had it so I gave it a new container that wasn't drafty and it perked right up! My BIG question here is this: Can I let the flowers grow or should I snip them off? My friend told me they were bad. He's often wrong about a lot of things so I wanted to check with someone more experienced with these plants.

Hello everyone! My name is Greg, I'm 25 and live in Boulder, Colorado. I just purchased some VFT's from what I thought to be a reputable website (I know it's a risk), and am anxiously waiting their arrival next week. I had browsed a couple of sites before I found this one. This one seems like a true community of VFT owners, so I'm looking forward to talking with everyone and learning as I go. Wish me luck!

Questions are answered in the FlytrapCare Forum (http://www.flytrapcare.com/phpBB3/), not here.

Hello, I live in a warm humid climate in the summer, and my venus flytrap is currently indoors and healthy. I have 3 questions:
1. Can my flytrap live in my vegetable garden and keep insects away naturally?
2. Before the first frost comes, can I dig it up repot it and bring it back indoors or will the climate change be too drastic?
3. Does it have any preditors I should be concerned about (will an animal eat it out of my garden or will a vegetable like cucumbers try to suffocate it and kill its root system)?
Thanks so much for your input.

I joined this forum last year, and unfortunately due to my job and a heavy work load, I am unable to go on to the site as much as I'd like. Now my account has been blocked. Anyway of reactivating my account without re-registering?
Thanks

Alvin, you can post a message in the forum by going into the topic (Probably general questions). Then in the top left of the page, press new topic.

Good luck :-)

All questions should be asked in the Forum instead of here in a comments section of an article. The FlytrapCare.com Forum: FlytrapCare.com/phpBB3/

#13 Mitch 2010-05-08 02:27
they need a more time to germinate.
first of all,
what "soil" did you sow them on?,
have you been keeping the media consantly damp?,
what water have you been using?
#12 Anni 2010-04-25 02:07
How long does it take, after putting the seeds into soil, they will start growing? We put seeds into soil on 17th of April and today is 25th and they still haven't grown!

Thanks:-)!

Congratulations on your plant surviving the winter! This is really a question for the forum, but yes, what you describe should work for your plant. You should definitely move it outside during the summer. For winter, you might have to do something special like a fridge dormancy or put it in an unheated garage or porch. You can read the dormancy article to find out more. And you should definitely join the forum to ask any more questions you have.

Hope to see you on the forum!
Matt

I got a Fly Trap for a b-day present back in January this year, its still in the container it came in and it survived Canada's winter haha, I been taking care of it as best as possible, I'm new at this, But thinking that its spring now or well somewhat spring. I need to re pot it and put it outside i think, but my main question is could i have it outside for spring, summer and fall, then bring it back inside for the winter months which are the dormancy times, would that be ok, since our winters can be long and really cold. Could i keep doing that or what would you suggest, and any other info and tips would be great thanks. This is my first Venus Fly Trap too.

Thanks again
